PMA Wins Etobicoke Civic Centre Competition

We are thrilled to be on the winning team for the Etobicoke Civic Centre competition! The proposal introduces a unique architectural and landscape typology that is sustainable, flexible and for the people. By extending the plaza upwards to the roof terraces, we expand and integrate the civic square for the citizens in an open and flexible approach that is integrated into the architecture of the building. Our winning team is led by Henning Larsen Architects and Adamson Associates Architects.

“To strengthen the idea that a civic centre is for the people, avoid creating a building that feels closed. A modern civic centre should have an inviting interior and exterior pedestrian scale, an animated street presence and a square for broad civic use…” Louis Becker, Design Principal and Partner at Henning Larsen Architects.
