Regent Park Revitalization Master Plan

Strategies

Ecological

Social

Urban Realm

PMA produced a master plan for the parks and open spaces within the revitalization of the Regent Park community. The exercise was part of a process that included the detailed design of an aquatic facility by MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects. Extensive community consultation was executed by PMA and MJMA. The design goals of the park were to make the parks active, social, beautiful safe, connected and ecologically responsible.

The Central Park design, including the new aquatic facility, was the main focus, being the core of the new Regent Park. Based on the programming solicited, PMA outlined recommendation for the public space, including; open green spaces, playgrounds and water plaza, a sport pad, and guidelines for the streetscape design of Dundas and Oak Street.

A master plan document was completed in June of 2008.
